All people age. However, the aging process begins at different time and progresses not at the same rate. Beside the external
influences this process also depends on the genetic control, but not on the personal or surgeon's desires.
Causative for the skin insenscence in face and neck area is usually the weakening of the connective tissues in conjunction with the
reduced regeneration of elastic and collagen fiber in progressing aging. The influences, such as alcohol and nicotine abuse, too long sun
exposures, severe diseases and the daily life moments under unusual psychical and social impacts make their contribution to the quick aging
of our face as well.
The face muscles can lose their tonus and elastance, the face-forming tissue loses its fluid and drooping forehead and eyebrows regions,
sagged cheeks, deep creases between nose and mouth and excess skin folds around the neck appear.
Photographs: Before/After - Comparison
The legislator has forbidden the comparison of "before" and "after" states in the form of photographs.
That's why we are unfortunately not able to present you the photo-feature at this place.
A face-neck lift is indicated by these pre-conditions. In this connection the esthetic-plastic surgeons can't
set back "the biological clock", but the goal is to return the ageing face the balance and proportions of
young one so that patient feels better.
The time point for operative face-neck lift should be determined very critically.
Depending on the requirements the follow types of operation can be distinguished:
Minilift
Cheek region lift by younger patients
Facelift
bilaminate cheek and neck region lift ( SMAS )
Forehead lift
Removing of forehead creases and/or drooping eyebrows
Temples lift
Raising of canthus and eyebrows
Indication:
Nowadays people earlier decide to plan the discreet correction of face contours, to keep the fresher and dynamic appearance.
Most operations are performed in the age between 35 and 40 years. The effect duration is about 2 -4-years.
Operation:
The exact usually s-shaped incision will be marked and performed after local skin anaesthesia.
Additionally by the minilift the deep tissues lift is reasonable, because in this case the lift effect remains
longer and the pulling is performed not on the skin, but on the underlying skin (SMAS) and muscles and thereby
the wide scar forming is eliminated. Thus the lift by preserved natural appearance can be performed (no mask-face).
Anaesthesia:
The Minilift is usually performed under local anaesthesia and as outpatient operation.
The operation can be also done under general anaesthesia or in half-sleep.
Clinic stay:
The inpatient stay in the clinic for one day actually is not necessary, but it can take place if desired.
After-care:
Most operations have almost no tendency to the swelling, however keep your head elevated for min. 3 days,
discreet local cold compresses, no physical exertion, the first inspection a day after surgery, the stitches will be removed within 12-14 days.
Indication:
The significant skin insenscence in face and neck area with deep creases between nose and mouth, sagged cheeks and excess skin folds around the neck indicate the facelift.
The smoking should be eliminated during one week before and after the operation. The effect duration is about 7 - 10 years.
Operation:
The incision will be done exactly round the ear and will follow the skin crease lines. The structure that lies beneath the skin (SMAS)
and the neck muscles (Platysma) are also involved into the operation so there is no pulling of the external scars and thus the wound healing
will be facilitated.
The excess skin, underlying skin and fatty tissues are removed or fixed at their original place. Hereby individual face-pulls remain permanent.
Anaesthesia:
Normally this operation is performed under general anaesthesia. But the facelift can also be done in half-sleep or under local anaesthesia.
It results in a reduced cardiac and circulatory system burden and the risks of secondary bleeding are minimized.
Clinic stay:
Normally the inpatient stay in the clinic for one or two days is recommended.
After-care:
Keep your head elevated, discreet cold compresses, no physical exertion, the first inspection a day after surgery, the stitches will be removed within 12-14 days.
Indication:
By strongly marked forehead creases the forehead lift should be performed. During this operation the additional eyebrows raising is possible. The horizontal forehead
creases and frown lines can be removed for a long time by means of muscles disconnections. The effect duration is about 5 - 7 years.
Operation:
Depending on the indication an "open" or an endoscopic surgical approach can be applied.
The skin in the forehead area is detached and the excess skin is removed. In most cases the scar lies well behind the hairline
so that it won't be visible here, in exceptional cases the scar can lie direct on the hairline (by men with high forehead or bald forehead).
Anaesthesia:
The operation is usually performed under general anaesthesia. The half-sleep operation or local anaesthesia is also optionally possible.
Clinic stay :
The inpatient stay in the clinic for one or two days is recommended.
After-care :
Keep your head elevated, discreet local cold compresses, no physical exertion, the first inspection a day after surgery,
the stitches or metal clips will be removed within 14 days.
Indication:
Temporal region lift with raising of jugal bridges, temple and eyebrows region for a fresher, sprightly appearance.
Operation:
The scar line and incision are situated behind or before the hairline in the temporal region, finally the fixing
of temple and eyebrow regions after the raising each one with its own string takes place or, where necessary, the excess skin removing ends the operation.
Anaesthesia:
The operation is usually performed under general anaesthesia. The half-sleep operation or local anaesthesia is also optionally possible.
Clinic stay:
The inpatient stay in the clinic for one or two days is recommended.
After-care:
Keep your head elevated, discreet local cold compresses, no physical exertion,
the first inspection a day after surgery, the stitches or metal clips will be removed within 14 days.
